Where two oceans meet
Cape Point marks the dramatic meeting of the cold Atlantic Ocean and the warmer Indian Ocean. This convergence zone creates a nutrient-rich mixing zone that attracts an incredible diversity of marine life â and the predators that feed on them.
The drop-off begins close to shore and plunges to over 300m within a few miles. This steep underwater terrain creates upwellings that concentrate baitfish and attract Yellowfin Tuna, Cape Yellowtail, Snoek, and during the right conditions, Dorado and even Marlin.
Fishing the Cape Point drop-off is an adventure in itself â the dramatic cliffs of Africa's southern tip as your backdrop while fighting world-class gamefish. We target the temperature breaks and current edges where fish concentrate.
